Timeline

1977 – A new software company in Los Angeles - Advantage began as a custom software development company. One of our clients was an ad agency, and the rest is history.

1983 – Our first advertising agency client - launch of The Heavyweight - Green screens and minicomputers powered our software into advertising agencies eager to automate their workflow and manage their money. The Heavyweight helps them reach new levels of productivity.

1985 – The industry’s first user group -Our first user group met in a small conference room.  More than twenty years later our 2006 meeting hosted 350 executives from 125 agencies. This unique industry partnership continuously pumps productivity enhancements into our software and provides an extraordinary peer network for idea exchange.

1992 –Launch of Advantage for Windows® - Redesigned from its core, Advantage leveraged everything we had learned into the latest technology. Intuitive, natural Windows® navigation made tasks easier, and a powerful new database effortlessly transformed data into information.

2002 – Acquisition of Adman adds 800 new clients - The acquisition of Adman from VNU gives hundreds of agencies a migration path to growth and success with Advantage.

2004 – Launch of Webvantage web-based system - Webvantage adds the convenience of anywhere, anytime Internet or Intranet access to Advantage applications, alerts and reports. The freedom to work from anywhere makes Webvantage an overnight success.

2005 – 20% growth, 415 agencies, 19,000 users and Sarbanes Oxley - Driven by the growth of our clients and the expanded need for productivity gains and regulatory compliance, Advantage becomes the most widely used agency management system in the mid-market space.

2006 – Continued growth, all new Print Media, and more web-enabled features - With the explosion of the print media market including Internet and Out of Home, we spent two years developing a complete system to handle the needs of both the Media and Accounting Departments.  And helping agencies reach the goal of “Total Agency Management”, we provided more browser-based tools to get creative, production and traffic on-line.

2007 – Full featured Client Budgeting and Job Forecasting take agencies to the next level - Client Budgeting and Job Forecasting are just two new programs in progress for our 2006/2007 releases.  These full-featured applications will completely automate these important processes and integrate them with relevant features in Advantage such as billing, income recognition and reporting.
